Mount Esports

Biography

The Mount has varsity teams in League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League, Smash Bros Ultimate, and Valorant. These teams compete in a variety of leagues and tournaments, have regular coaching and practice sessions, receive academic support and jerseys, and have a dedicated play space in our arena. Our gaming arena is over 2,200 square feet and features gaming PCs, consoles, a lounge area, and a streaming lab. The space is open, free of charge, to all students, and our student leadership team regularly runs events for the whole community. Beyond the varsity side of things, we have club teams and casual members of our community, all who participate in the program in various ways and who are highly valued. We also have an esports and game studies minor, allowing you to take courses centered on your passion and to pursue a career in esports whether it be on the business, production, or technology side of things. You can get course credit for running Mount streams from our streaming lab so that beyond just coursework, you’re able to get practical experience in streaming and production. The program has a number of connections to area esports orgs so that students looking for internship opportunities always have options.
