Turbo Tuesday | Week 34 Recap

Turbo Tuesday | Week 34 Recap

AUTHOR: CHRIS "BEARLIGHT" LEE / @BEARLIGHTCASTS

It was a race to the finish in Week 34 of Stay Plugged In's Turbo Tuesday presented by eNASCAR. Our Rocket League recruits continue to compete from a large variety of regions across North America, and always seem to put on a show every single week. With a few Stay Plugged In live events wrapping up the past couple of weeks, the energy of excitement that attending players experienced in-person has inevitably carried over into the virtual environment in these weekly brackets. Turbo Tuesday is the number one weekly event players can utilize to remain in the eyes of recruiters while also getting the relevant practice they need to improve their gameplay and in-game mentality. As long as homework is finished, Tuesday becomes Rocket League time, and this week we will breakdown the results and highlight key players of Week 34.

BREAKDOWN & RESULTS

We mention every week how much talent comes to the Stay Plugged In network through Turbo Tuesday. As an example of how close these matches can get, note that once this double-elimination bracket reached the Upper Semifinals match, every single match went to at least four games. Team "Uhhh" may have been at a loss for words when naming their team, but they definitely spoke through their gameplay. Their stats and results really stood out this week. Senior SCYTOS of team "Uhhh" appeared in an interview during this Summer's Carry 2 College, and it's good to see the work he told us he was putting in producing results. Although they would fall short in the Grand Finals, the improvement of their play was quite evident.

South Dearborn High School is a program in Indiana with years of experience in esports. Their students have been using the Stay Plugged In platform for over a year, and their Rocket League team returned to action this week. TK and SNEAKEE have been holding it down over that time period, and FROSTY did well stepping up this week to push South Dearborn to the top 3.

BOBEVAN, senior and captain of Team "Uhhh" did his best to lead by example, with an average of 3.33 shots per game and 1.33 saves per game, but Team "reidthesloth" were outstanding yet again this week. RESONAL led the bracket again with an even 2.0 goals per game, but the real standout in their (4-1) Finals victory was XEL, regularly setting up Res with an unmatched 1.67 assists per game and 1.33 goals per game on top of it.

WINNERS & FINAL THOUGHTS

Congratulations to Team "reidthesloth" for yet another Turbo Tuesday win this week. XEL earns the Week 34 MVP with the balanced stats we mentioned above, and TIDE and RESONAL have now won five in a row. With the thousands of talented recruits we have on the Stay Plugged In platform, it is only a matter of time before we see the weekly kings dethroned. Is your team able to take them out?
