Announcing the 2023 Stay Plugged In Coca-Cola All-Star Tournament!

Stay Plugged In and Coca-Cola Consolidated are in search of the best high school Rocket League and VALORANT players in the country.

Dates and Prizing

The Stay Plugged In Coca-Cola All-Star weekend will have $20,000 in monetary prizing, with each All-Star guaranteed to earn at least $250.

Please see below for important dates:

  • Nominations Open - August 22nd, 2023

  • Nominations Close - November 1st, 2023

  • All-Star Selection Announcement - November 30th, 2023

  • All-Star Weekend - December 14th-16th, 2023

All selected All-Stars will receive a bespoke Care Package filled with Coke merchandise in early December. 

Nominations

The nomination process for the Stay Plugged In Coca-Cola All-Stars event is now open. All students will be evaluated on:

  • Gameplay

  • Sportsmanship

  • Intangibles

  • Voting

Additionally, the All-Stars weekend is only open to United States residents from the high school class of ‘24 and ‘25.

Gameplay

The gameplay category can be broken down even further into submitted clips, peak online rank, and participation in Stay Plugged In events and competitions.

In the gameplay category, players will be expected to submit clips or highlights of their gameplay for the judges to evaluate. 

Players will also need to submit their last season’s peak online rank.

Rounding out the gameplay category, points will be awarded for participation and placement in Stay Plugged In online and LAN events held between July 1st and November 1st.

Sportsmanship

Being a Stay Plugged In Coca-Cola All-Star is not all about your skill in the game. Our judges are looking for well-rounded and respectful players.

There will be 3 points to earn based on players’ responses to the Questionnaire portion of the nomination form.

It is important to be honest and accurate in your questionnaire responses and take the time to outline your answers to be as thoughtful and thorough as possible. 

Additionally, players can earn points with letters of recommendation submitted by family members, teammates, coaches, or managers.

Intangibles 

Players can earn a total of 5 points in the “Intangibles” category.

In this section, players will be evaluated based on their “Video of Self”, extracurricular activities, and GPA.

The “Video of Self” provides students with the opportunity to introduce themselves and share their thoughts on a variety of college esports topics. 

Players can choose from 3 of the 5 prompts:

  • What is one word that describes your playstyle? Explain.

  • What unique personality traits/attributes do you empbdy that will benefit your program at the collegiate level? What are some weaknesses you want to overcome?

  • Share your thoughts on the collegiate esports space as it is today.

  • What advice would you give to high school underclassmen about the collegiate recruitment process?

  • Who would you identify as your primary mentor up to this point in your esports career?

Additionally, players will be expected to explain why they believe they are a Stay Plugged In Coca-Cola All-Star.

Voting / Bonus Points

For each additional nomination that a player receives from another person, they can receive 0.25 points for each.

Finally, players can earn bonus points in a couple of ways.

  • 0.5 points - Participation in one LAN event

  • 0.5 points - Participation in 2 showcases

  • 1 point - “Special Nomination” – we will give each selection committee member the ability to award 1 of 3 bonus points to one nominee based on how they see fit.

Format

The Stay Plugged In Coca-Cola All-Stars weekend will be broken down across three different days:

Day 1: Recruiting Day

Players will have the opportunity to connect with a ton of collegiate esports recruiters and get their name out there. 

Day 2: Skills Challenge

Players will show off their skills in 1-vs-1 skills challenges. 

Day 3: All-Stars Competition

Players will be sorted onto 1 of 4 teams and will compete in the All-Stars bracket with other Stay Plugged In Coca-Cola All-Stars from across the country.
